Abstract
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic the world has been in a constant state of evolving change. The reason why we used the term “evolving” is because this pandemic has affected human lives in a way that has never happened before, and no one was expecting it. We have witnessed how the Coronavirus pandemic has sent the global economy into a tailspin. Although it might be hard to see the full picture of how badly the effects have been, the clearest evidence come from job loss numbers and the mass closure of both big and small businesses, this includes companies filing for bankruptcy, closing doors temporarily or even laying off employees. Many governments have undertaken an economic response plan to keep their medium and small businesses afloat by giving wage subsidies, rent reliefs or dedicating relief packages of billions to maintain the economy (USA). But the real question is whether even with the financial assistance from the governments, will it be enough to save small businesses? From our personal perspective, we think that unless those businesses have either saved money or have access to deep pockets (more investment from shareholders), they will not be able to survive a shutdown mandated by the health administration unless they adapt their business model. These past months we have seen how to stay afloat companies have pivoted to selling their products online. And this is how Ohlehchef will operate, by being a completely online platform.
