Innovation’s impact on Sustainable Development Goals’ Performance
Maza Ruiz, Adara
The social and environmental crisis we are facing requires changes towards more sustainable routes. The challenge lies in having effective strategies and resources to be able to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) proposed in the 2030 Agenda; since, for now, no country - not even the best performer – arrive on time. This study aims to analyze the impact of innovation on the performance of the SDGs, focusing on two specific goals: SDG 3 and SDG16. Going into the four dimensions of the Summary Innovation Index, the results show a positive relationship between innovation and the achievement of the SDGs. At the same time, it highlights both the uniqueness of each SDG and the interrelation between the Sustainable Development Goals.
