Background/Objectives: Pediatric cancer patients and their families are increasingly combining conventional treatment with complementary therapies. These therapies are not covered by most public healthcare systems, and Spain is not an exception. To address this need, the Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona, at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (Spain), established the first integrative pediatric oncology unit in 2019. The objective of this study is to describe the feasibility of implementing a pediatric integrative oncology unit, in terms of the acceptance of the interventions, as well as to present initial data on the care activities; Methods: This is a retrospective single-center study, conducted in the Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona, at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. Data from patients during a two-year period were collected by reviewing medical records in a pseudonymous manner. [...]

Background: Despite evidence supporting exercise in cancer care, adherence remains low. Nordic Walking (NW), a pole-assisted outdoor activity, may overcome barriers and improve fitness. However, a comprehensive synthesis of its effects on physical fitness in cancer patients is lacking. Objective: To evaluate NW’s effects on physical fitness, health-related quality of life (HRQoL), adherence, and safety in patients living with and beyond cancer, compared with no intervention or other exercise programs. Methods: This PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis (PROSPERO: CRD42024551608) included randomized or quasi-randomized trials. Five databases were searched through November 2024. Risk of bias (Joanna Briggs Institute) and evidence certainty (GRADE) were assessed. [...]

Objectives: This study provides further data from a review assessing methodological characteristics of pragmatic randomised controlled trials (pRCTs) published in manual therapy (MT). In this second part, we aim to assess the report, the risk of bias (RoB), and the relationship between these items and the pragmatism scores of the self-labelled pRCTs in the MT field. Study design and setting: We searched MEDLINE and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials for pRCTs in the MT field from inception to January 2024. Two independent reviewers screened the trials using several CONSORT extensions and assessed them using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. We performed a descriptive analysis using frequencies and percentages and a relation analysis between the trials' pragmatism, their reporting, and their RoB. [...]
